Shay Mitchell is an actressmodeland businessperson from Canada. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is a star of the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. After achieving great results in modeling and dancing, she wanted to get into acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell appeared in a variety of commercials and appeared in guest roles on TV series before landing her first major role as Emily Fields. She was praised for her talent by critics as well the people who loved her. The career in film began with Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario by her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April, 1987. Her mother is Filipina and her father is of Irish and Scottish roots. Mitchell has also been identified as the relative to Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. At the end of her teenage years she was modeling for a variety of companies across the globe. The model traveled to Barcelona as well as Bangkok prior to returning to Toronto to study acting.
