Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her mother was at home and was also a mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. Beginning at a very early age, McCormick was a singer and dance and would often put on puppet shows for the neighborhood children. At the age 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask whether the actress was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick was hired to star in her debut major part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon she was given the lead role in the play Wind It up and It breaks, a production at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the eldest daughter of the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick almost lost her virginity on the stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 when she was in the scene while he was.
